Bamboo for the Development of Youth, sponsored by the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation (NBM), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. This project seeks to provide ecological, economic and livelihood security, and generate employment for the youth, thereby, bring peace, social stability and development to the tribal people living in the hill areas of Manipur, particularly in the Senapati district and its specific objectives is to :
(a) Transfer technology to, and capacity building and skill development of, the youth;
(b) Assist youth to raise high-yielding, commercially valuable bamboo plantations;
(c) Increase productivity by enabling youth to adopt appropriate technology package; and
(d) Assist in marketing so that the youth receive optimal return for their produce.
